BUILDING YOUR SPREADSHEET
User accounts can be created in a batch using a .csv file.
A .csv template is available for download from this page.
Fill out the spreadsheet with the following information:
- Role: This column defines the type of account that is being created. The user in the corresponding row can either be a Teacher (instructor), a Student, or a School Admin. This setting cannot be changed later on.
- Username: Fill in the Username field with either:

- a username of your choice, or
- the same email address you entered in the Email field
- Please note that each Username must be unique. In the event that you enter a Username that is already in use in our system, you will be prompted to reenter an available Username.

IMPORTING YOUR SPREADSHEET
Once your spreadsheet is complete and formatted correctly, follow the steps below to import your .csv file into the back office.
- Click on Manage on the top-left of the page and select Users.
- Click Import Users on the top-right of the page.
- A new window will appear.
- Select Password setups option.
- Users receive an email with link to set their own passwords: For this option, your spreadsheet should not contain a column with predetermined passwords for any user.
- Preset user passwords via .csv file: For this option, your spreadsheet must contain a column with predetermined passwords for each user.
- Passwords, which must be created by the School Admin, can be identical or unique for each user. Passwords can be changed later on.
- Passwords must have a minimum of 6 characters
- For this option, the Email Address column may be left blank, if you do not plan to use student email addresses in the system.
- Users receive an email with link to set their own passwords: For this option, your spreadsheet should not contain a column with predetermined passwords for any user.
- Click Upload to select the correct file from your PC.
6.Choose the .csv file from the appropriate location in your PC.
7. Click Continue.
8. Once the batch import is complete, you will see a results section showing the number of users accounts created successfully, as well as any error messages.
9.If the system finds an error with the uploaded file, the error will be indicated as a pop up box or via the results section.
(a) Example Error 1: System is indicating an error, because the spreadsheet used for the upload was not saved in .csv format. Save your spreadsheet as .csv (Comma Delimited) and upload once again.
(b) Example Error 2: The error messages on this attempt show that the accounts entered in lines 1 and 2 of the spreadsheet already exist in the back office.
(c) To double check whether the user is already in the system, click Manage on the top-left of the page, then select Users. In theUsername field, type the username in question. Then, click APPLY.
